STOP what you’re doing & take a moment to celebrate our new ambassador!
Keely Hodgkinson won the nation’s hearts in 2021 when she announced herself as Great Britain’s brightest Athletics talent. At just 19-years-old, the 800m track specialist started the year by becoming the youngest British athlete to win a European Indoor title for over 50-years. The showcase event of the Summer was the rescheduled Tokyo Olympic Games, and again Keely showed maturity beyond her years when came home with a silver-medal and a new British record. The final big event of the season was the star-studded Diamond League Final in Zurich where Keely finished ahead of all her rivals and lifted the title.
2022 has started much the same for Keely with a home win at the British Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham and setting new British record figures in the process. With four major Championships on the horizon in 2022; World Indoor Championships, World Championships, Commonwealth Games and European Championships, we are sure to all hear more of Keely Hodgkinson.
We are so thrilled that Keely has agreed to team up with us as our Totally Runable Ambassador. When asked why she was motivated to do so, Keely explained; “I know that girls sometimes doubt themselves and don’t know if they do something, but we have to put ourselves in these challenging situations as we can do more than we think and do amazing things, I keep finding this out!”
The team at Totally Runable think Keely’s message and her mindset is so important for girls and women to see and hear. We will be bringing you more from Keely’s ambassador interview soon but for now, “Welcome to the Totally Runable Team Keely!”
Speaking after announcing their first national ambassador this week Freeman said, “It’s fantastic to be able to announce that Jenny is supporting us in our mission to build girls’ confidence in sport. I’ve travelled all over the world with her and seen the passion she has for being the best she can be and I know how inspiring that will be to the girls we are working with. It will be great to have her on board with our upcoming projects and I can’t wait to start working with her!”
